** God put His Cross where His Mouth Was - all along! ** Today's Bible Promise is ... "As one whom his mother comforteth, so will I comfort you; and ye shall be comforted in Jerusalem." Isa 66:13

Grieve not the holy Spirit of God,
whereby ye are sealed unto the day
of redemption.

T HE love of the Spirit.--The Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost.--In all their affliction he was afflicted, and the angel of his presence saved them: in his love and in his pity he redeemed them; and he bare them, and carried them all the days of old. But they rebelled, and vexed his holy Spirit: therefore he was turned to be their enemy, and he fought against them.

Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit.--After that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession.--This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.

The Spirit also helpeth our infirmities.

Ga. 5. 16, 17. Ro. 8. 26.

I will go and return to my place, till they
acknowledge their offence, and
seek my face.

Y OUR iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you.--My beloved had withdrawn himself, and was gone: . . . I sought him, but I could not find him; I called him, but he gave me no answer.--I hid me, and was wroth, and he went on frowardly in the way of his heart. I have seen his ways, and will heal him.--Hast thou not procured this unto thyself, in that thou hast forsaken the LORD thy God, when he led thee by the way?

He arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him.--I will heal their backsliding, I will love them freely: for mine anger is turned away.

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

GOD'S BIBLE NAMES - (365 Bible Names & Titles for God)

Mark 5:7 And cried with a loud voice, and said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, [thou] Son of the most high God? I adjure thee by God, that thou torment me not.

Here we are confronted with another testimony from an unclean spirit --- "Son of the most high God", he calls Jesus. What unseen powers compelled this significant title? Was it brought about by being face to face with Himself? Judas betrayed Him, but this poor, demon-possessed man worshipped Him. In these strange "daZe" many trachers, professors and preachers refuse to honor Him as the Son, but only as a Son of God. But we lift our hearts to Him and say,

"Son of the most high God, be our Companion this day and may we withhold naught from Thee!" Amen

I know it sounds silly - but I am thankful for my 'digits'.

I see infants playing with them - investigating the newfound fascination of these marvels of dexterity. And I am aware of how difficult life for humans can become without them.

So, Lord, I thank you for my toes and my fingers, too! Please help me use them to honor You!

Celebrate Diversity!

Is there something a bit odd about you? Something you might think makes you a bit different? An overbite, or perhaps a space between your teeth? Or is your nose a bit large, or peculiar? It might be you limp a bit. Something that you can't shake feeling self-conscious about in public? Or are you just plain special? Which is it?

Overcoming is usually a private thing. As we grow up and put away our childish things, we usually do so quietly. No one else knows, but God. We share everything with God, after all - whether we know or acknowledge this, or not!

This young lad has been thrown a 'hardball' - a genuine handicap he must now overcome. But rather than hide it from the public, he has chosen to celebrate it - openly! The fact that he is also doing this in a very sporting and competitive manner, is either all the more admirable, or foolish. It depends upon the observer's perspective. I choose to see this as an heroic, determined choice he's made - not to allow what others might see as a devastating loss, to force him to the sidelines. That's what overcoming's all about!

But the child fighting for every breath because of a debilitating asthma, is no less an hero in my book! Or that Pilgrim that has chosen to grit their teeth and obey God in overcoming some pernicious addiction (gambling, cursing, sexual, or pharmaceutical, etc). God knows! And Watches. And is Recording it ALL.

The Lord INTENDED diversity. He made a deliberate SHOW of it in His Creation. And He intends that such uniqueness be celebrated joyfully - not skulking in the shadows - hiding from the scrutiny of others. But it is a matter of coming to terms with GOD (not man) about such things - that makes such heroic exultation possible.

Lord, help us to do that - to come to terms with You about all those little things that want to keep us self-conscious - and not Christ-centered! And if any others ever do see us as heroes, Lord, let the Glory and Honors go to YOU!

Search me, O God,
And know my heart today;
Try me, O Savior,
Know my thoughts, I pray.
See if there be
Some wicked way in me;
Cleanse me from every sin
And set me free.

I praise Thee, Lord,
For cleansing me from sin;
Fulfill Thy Word,
And make me pure within.
Fill me with fire
Where once I burned with shame;
Grant my desire
To magnify Thy Name.

Lord, take my life,
And make it wholly Thine;
Fill my poor heart
With Thy great love divine.
Take all my will,
My passion, self and pride;
I now surrender, Lord
In me abide.

O Holy Ghost,
Revival comes from Thee;
Send a revival,
Start the work in me.
Thy Word declares
Thou wilt supply our need;
For blessings now,
O Lord, I humbly plead.

Spiritual curiosity is not genuine Hunger and Thirst!

'SOUL FOOD' - an audio-book by G.D. Watson - Ch. 26 of 32

-- G.D. Watson lived in England, in the early part of the 1900's --

During the year 1895, the Lord permitted me to have in my life and experience many very wonderful answers to prayer. I wish now to give an account of only one among a great number.

It is well known that the orange groves in Florida were nearly all killed in January, 1895, so that my property, from which I expected a support, was all ruined. I was divinely kept from even a thought of a murmur. I fasted and prayed many days, and made a solemn covenant with God: First, I would ask help of no one except the Lord. Second, that I would not go any deeper in debt. Third, that I would very rigidly give God one-tenth of all He gave to me. My faith had a few testing seasons, but I never lacked, and I was never out of cash money. The infinitely tender dealings of God for the year, in spiritual and physical matters, would fill a book. Here is only one. I had more urgent need for money coming due in November. I knew I had no way to get the money but by prayer, so all through September and October I prayed much for the funds, and I observed several days of fasting. I was kept in perfect peace, yet intense looking to God. During the last week in October, a poor, sanctified widow fifteen hundred miles from me, and who had never seen me, wrote to me that she was very powerfully impressed of the Spirit to spend a whole day in prayer for my temporal supplies, and that God spoke into her heart that He would supply my needs. I needed one hundred dollars by November 10th, and another hundred in December, but my little prayer only took in the first hundred. On the 6th of November, after supper, just before beginning the weekly holiness meeting in my house, I was walking in the library, talking with the Lord of my deep need; suddenly the Holy Ghost opened up to my mind a fresh and strong view of the Fatherly provision of God for me. My whole soul was melted into love and peace; tears of joy flowed down my face; there was something just like a voice talking in my heart, which said, "Money is nothing to Me; it is only My wrapping-paper, and is inexhaustible; just give Me continually your warmest love and perfect obedience, and I will attend to your finances."

With these words in my mind, I felt that my prayer was answered. In four more days the money would be needed, and I did not have my mind on anybody on earth to supply it. On the 9th I received a letter from a sanctified business man, several thousand miles away, saying that he "felt a strong impulse to send me a check for over two hundred dollars." The receipt of the check did not surprise me at all, for my faith was expecting God to do something; but I walked into the forest and sat down on a log, and just gazed for an hour at the great and living God, and adored His matchless love and the reality of His personal presence. I did not know which to admire most, the movement of the Holy Ghost on the widow to pray, or on the dear brother to send the money. And then to see the accuracy of the Lord's time-table, that the supply should reach me just on time to a day. I at once took out one-tenth for the Lord.

Now I have written this only for God's glory, to encourage the child of God to have perfect faith in Him, and I earnestly recommend the rigid principles of giving the tenth to God of all that we receive.

The Lord wants us to pray very particularly and persistently for all things which are covered by His promises, and it is a good way to prove our earnestness by fasting, especially in emergencies. God is now waiting to work thousands of wonders for His children, in saving, or healing, or filling, or providing, if they will deeply and perseveringly plead His promises through the merit of Jesus.

Pr 12:3
"A man is not established by wickedness,
but the root of the righteous will never be moved."

"Oh, wonderful, wonderful Word of the Lord! -
The hope of our friends in the past; Its truth where so firmly they anchored their trust, through ages eternal shall last.

Oh, wonderful, wonderful Word of the Lord! -
Unchanging, abiding and sure; For we know that when time and the world pass away, God's Word shall forever endure!"
