MORNING

Isaac went out to meditate in the field
at the eventide.

L ET the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.

When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained; what is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?--The works of the LORD are great, sought out of all them that have pleasure therein.

Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.--This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night.--My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness; and my mouth shall praise thee with joyful lips: when I remember thee upon my bed, and meditate on thee in the night watches.

GEN. 24. 63. Ps. 19. 14. Ps. 8. 3, 4.--
Ps. 111. 2. Ps. 1. 1, 2.--Jos. 1. 8.--
Ps. 63. 5, 6.

EVENING

How long wilt thou forget me, O LORD!
for ever? how long wilt thou hide
thy face from me?

E VERY good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.--But Zion said, The LORD hath forsaken me, and my Lord hath forgotten me. Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee.

Thou shalt not be forgotten of me. I have blotted out, as a thick cloud, thy transgressions, and, as a cloud, thy sins.

Jesus loved Martha, and her sister, and Lazarus. When he had heard therefore that he was sick, he abode two days still in the same place where he was.--A woman . . . cried unto him, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou son of David! But he answered her not a word.

The trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth.

FOTO TOTO?

POOR ME!

O woe is me - my ears are too big for my little body. And would you take a look at those clod-hopperz - size 11's!! Why, if it weren't for my sad countenance (I do seem to get lots of snuggles & smoochies because of my disgruntled disposition) - I just don't know what I'd do. I guess God just made me wrong! -sigh-

Ever get that feeling? That you just don't belong - anywhere? That there's just no one - no one at all - that understands you - and your various troubles & woes? Gracious!

With a huggable, adorable pup like this - all this is cute and winsome. But, unfortunately, there are many many folks that feel this same way too. All I can say to them is that God has made no mistake in your Composition. He knew what He was doing when He fashioned you from His Breath. And, if you can ever get OVER your SELF long enough - He will make all that clear to you, too!

Imperfections are not necessarily flaws. God made Moses' tongue and made it with a lisp, apparently. God knew what He was doing. And there was that man that was born blind - who was given the awesome privilege (as an adult) to be healed by Messiah's Own Hand! That was no mistake. But we are prone to demand to understand a thing before we will accept it. This is grave error.

Besides - what I may see as a terrible characteristic in myself (we are always our own worst critic!) - others can usually get used to - quite easily! Kids learn this at school. A particularly obviously crippled youngster may cause some to cringe at first - but after they are given a chance to adjust, most children get-over-it quite nicely - and learn a wonderful lesson!

If God is determined to Love you - in spite of every reason you can find why He should not - don't you think it would be a good idea to find a way to - LET HIM?!

DAILY HYMN (LYRICS & MUSIC)

THE PILOT OF GALILEE

Out on life’s ocean with perils ever nigh,
I have a Pilot on Whom I can rely;
With Him to guide me, life’s storms I can defy,
’Tis Christ of Galilee.

Refrain

He is my Pilot on life’s stormy sea,
This wondrous Man of Galilee;
I’m safe in His keeping,
Tho’ storms are round me sweeping,
This Pilot of Galilee.

Wondrous His power and matchless is His skill,
Billows and tempests obey His sov’reign will.
Hushed into silence at His blest “Peace, be still,”
This Man of Galilee.

Refrain

Fierce was the tempest once raging in my soul,
When of my bark He, my Pilot, took control.
With voice commanding above the thunder’s roll,
This Man of Galilee.

Refrain

Hear it, ye storm-tossed, upon the sea of sin,
Why will ye not take the heav’nly Pilot in?
Safely He’ll guide you the haven blest to win,
This Man of Galilee.

Refrain

CHRISTIAN STUDY RESOURCES

'Sound theologians!

from Spurgeon’s, "Plain Words with the Careless"
No. 778 Luke 8:28.

A man may know a great deal about true
religion, and yet be a total stranger to it.

He may know that Jesus Christ is the Son of
God, and yet he may be possessed of a devil.

Mere knowledge does nothing for us but puff us up.

We may know, and know, and know, and so
increase our responsibility, without bringing
us at all into a state of salvation.

Beware of resting in head-knowledge.

Beware of relying upon orthodoxy,
for without love for Christ, with all your
correctness of doctrine, you will be a
sounding brass and a tinkling cymbal.

It is well to be sound in the faith,
but the soundness must be in the
heart as well as in the head.

There is as ready a way to destruction by the road
of orthodoxy as by the paths of heterodoxy.

Hell has thousands in it who were never heretics.

Remember that the devils "believe and tremble."

There are no sounder theologians than devils,
and yet their conduct is not affected by
what they believe, and consequently they still
remain at enmity to the Most High God. A mere
head-believer is on a par therefore with fallen
angels, and he will have his portion with them
forever unless grace shall change his heart.

PODCAST - DAILY AUDIO DEVOTIONALS

DAILY POEM

The 'Morning Watch'

At the world-renowned "Keswick Convention" in England - reputed for years to be the largest single gathering of Christians, Missionaries & Clergy from all over the globe - the congregants were asked one question upon arrival each year;

"What one habit or characteristic would you advise any New Babe in-Christ would be the most important for him/her to master?".

Year after year the almost unanimous response was, "The Morning Watch!".

So much so, it was abandoned as a cliche! The 'Morning Watch' is a faithful appointment with God (most usually upon first-waking in the A.M.), and consists of spending ALONE-TIME with the Lord in diligent Bible study, serious Prayer and child-like God-bonding.
