MORNING

The kingdom of heaven is as a man
travelling into a far country, who
called his own servants, and
delivered unto them his goods . . .
to every man according to his
several ability.

K NOW ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey?

All these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will. The manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.--As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.--It is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.--Unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more.

Who is sufficient for these things?--I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

2 Co. 2. 16.--Phi. 4. 13.

EVENING

Distributing to the necessity of saints.

D AVID said, Is there yet any that is left of the house of Saul, that I may shew him kindness for Jonathan's sake?

Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: for I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.--Whosoever shall give to drink unto one of these little ones a cup of cold water only in the name of a disciple, verily I say unto you, he shall in no wise lose his reward.

To do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.--God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.

ROM. 12. 13. 2 Sa. 9. 1. Mat. 25. 34-36, 40.--
Mat. 10. 42. He. 13. 16.--He. 6. 10.

SPARROW-VENDOR

Sometimes a picture says it best. We've all heard about Jesus Christ's famous story about an oriental bird-seller putting a price of 5-for-the-price-of-4 on lowly sparrows. Throwing in that last one as a kind of 'freeby'. Well they still do that in the east. And here is a snapshot of a man who makes his living off such paltry produce.

God's Value system is from HIS Perspective - not man's. God Inhabits Eternity - and His Thoughts are not at all LIKE our's. He SAYS so! It would be odd indeed if God did not See, Think, Plan, Design, Purpose, Create and Value differently than puny mortals. After all - Perception is not only limited to, but defined BY Perspective. It has been said, 'you can only GO as far as you can SEE!'. And since God SEES by Way of Eternity (which we can only imagine), His Economy and Priorities are far from man's.

God Views a widow's 'mite' as all she had - and VALUES it. God told Samuel to look on the heart - not the exterior - or he would never Recognize God's Anointed King in the young David - a humble shepherd lad. And there were 'scales' that had to 'fall off' Paul's Eyes (Spiritually) before he could See WHO CHRIST WAS. (Paul was blinded by Jesus, and had to ask WHO it was that had just ACCOSTED him) Can WE See thing slike GOD Sees them?

Our Father wants to 'Rub-off' on us - that is, Christ must be 'FORMED in us", it is Written. As we Fellowship WITH God, His Views and Perspectives - His Priorities and Preferences Effect us - SPIRITUALLY - and we are then "Changed - by Beholding as in a Mirror - from Glory unto Glory". And as we "PUT ON THE MIND OF CHRIST!", as we Follow as we are Led by The Holy Spirit - as we Obey and learn to Obey - as Christ did - we grow up. Our Faith Matures. Our Sight Improves. Our Character Changes - and we are "MADE The Righteousness of God", even as Christ was "MADE SIN FOR US". We Change. By our decrease, Christ INCREASES in us - and we are Transformed - from the inside - in Spirit and in Truth.

I would not mind ending up just a tiny sparrow in Heaven - with God. It would be far more than I deserve - and more than I could hope for - were it not for Jesus Christ. AS IT IS ... that is, as it is NOW (in the New Creation, in Christ) - we all have so much more than we know Prepared for us. WHO KNEW?!?! The prodigal would never have guessed he would receive such a Welcome Home, returning from such debauchery - and dragging of the Household Name threw the pigsties of his day?! So with us. If we could SEE what God SEES Now-in-Christ - how much more might we learn to ABIDE where PLANTED and FOLLOW as LED?

Father, thank You for Your Inheritance for us in-Christ! Help us make the BIG-EYES at You, Lord - and Learn Your Ways for us Now - as they ever will be in Heaven!

DAILY HYMN (LYRICS & MUSIC)

ROOM FOR JESUS

Is there any room for Jesus?
He Who died on Calvary,
He Who standeth, knocking, waiting,
Pleading with you tenderly.

Refrain

Room for Jesus, room for Jesus,
Let Him in your heart today,
Throwing every window open,
O receive Him while you may.

We have room for worldly pleasures,
Cares of life crowd every day,
And our hearts and minds are burdened
While the Lord is turned away.

Refrain

Will you not make room for Jesus,
For the Christ, the Crucified?
Is there not some place to enter
In the soul for which He died?

Refrain

Room and time and thought for Jesus,
Hasten to accept His grace
Ere the heart grows cold and careless,
And His pleading voice shall cease.

Refrain

CHRISTIAN STUDY RESOURCES

'Thus Says the Lord!'

from Spurgeon’s sermon, “Thus Says the Lord” Ezekiel 11:5

“Thus says the Lord” is the only authority in God’s Church.

The faintest whisper of Jehovah's voice should fill us with
solemn awe, and command the deepest obedience of our souls.

Brethren, how careful should we be that we do not set up in
God’s church anything in opposition to his Word, that we do
not permit the teachings of a creature to usurp the honor due
to the Lord alone.

“Thus says antiquity.”
“Thus says authority.”
“Thus says learning.”
“Thus says experience.”
-these are but idol-gods which defile the church of God!

Be it yours and mine as bold warriors to dash them in pieces
without mercy, seeing that they usurp the place of the Word of God.

“Thus says the Lord,” -this is the motto of our standard;
the war-cry of our spiritual conflict; the sword with which
we hope yet to smite through the loins of the mighty who
rise up against God’s truth.

“Thus says the Lord God.” This is the trowel, and this the
hammer of God’s builders; this the trumpet of his watchmen
and the sword of his warriors.
Woe to the man who comes in any other name!

If we, or an angel from heaven, shall preach unto you anything but
a “Thus says the Lord,” no matter what our character or standing,
give no heed to us, but cleave unto the truth as it is in Jesus.

To the law and to the testimony, if we speak not according
to this word, it is because there is no light in us.

That test which we demand to be exercised upon others we
cheerfully consent to be exercised upon ourselves, praying
that we may have grace to forsake our errors as we would
have other men forsake theirs.

We will listen to the opinions of great men with the respect
which they deserve as men, but having so done, we deny that
we have anything to do with these men as authorities in the
Church of God, for there nothing has any authority, but
“Thus says the Lord of hosts.”
Yes, if you shall bring us the concurrent consent of all tradition-
if you shall quote precedents venerable with fifteen, sixteen, or
seventeen centuries of antiquity, we burn the whole as so much
worthless lumber, unless you put your finger upon the passage
of Holy Writ which warrants the matter to be of God.

To the true Church of God the only question is this, is there
“Thus says the Lord” for it? And if divine authority be not
forthcoming, faithful men thrust forth the intruder as the cunning
craftiness of men.

Let us use much of Scripture, much of the pure silver
of sacred revelation, and no human alloy.
“What is the chaff to the wheat, says the Lord?”

Many sorrows shall be to those who dare to dash themselves
against the thick bosses of Jehovah's buckler by opposing his
“Thus says the Lord.” Upon whomsoever this stone shall fall
it shall grind him to powder, and whosoever shall fall upon it shall
be broken to his own lasting damage.

O! my brethren, I would that we trembled and stood more in awe
of God’s Word. I fear that many treat the things of God as
though they were merely matters of opinion, but remember that
opinion cannot govern in God’s house.

God’s Word, not man’s opinion, claims your allegiance.
O for a stern integrity that will hold the Word and will never
depart from it, come what may.

ART MEDIA WORTH MENTION (Selected Clips - Audio, Visual, Graphics)

Today's ART MEDIA SELECTION is a Video Clip on Ocean Power Technologies PowerBuoy - Ocean Power Technologies.

(OPT) has a nice video clip of it's PowerBuoy™ (windows media player). Wave power has the advantage that it can produce power continuously and has the potential to compete with fossil fuel power, without having the visual distractions of wind power. OPT's PowerBuoy™ is designed to be deployed in approximately 100 feet (30 meters) of water. Inside, a piston-like structure moves as the PowerBuoy™ bobs with the rise and fall of the waves. This movement drives a generator on the ocean floor, producing electricity, which is sent to the shore by an underwater cable. A previous post on Wave Power has further information about OPT.

Earlier this month OPT announced that they had been selected to install a 5 MW system off the north coast of Cornwall, UK. This is their sixth installation, other project sites include Spain, France Hawaii and New Jersey. Duration 4:34 minutes. - CHECK IT OUT! - CLICK HERE:
