MORNING

I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

SO that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.

Behold, I am with thee, and will keep thee in all places whither thou goest, and will bring thee again into this land; for I will not leave thee, until I have done that which I have spoken to thee of.--Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the LORD thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.

Demas hath forsaken me, having loved this present world.--At my first answer no man stood with me, but all men forsook me: I pray God that it may not be laid to their charge. Notwithstanding the Lord stood with me, and strengthened me.--When my father and my mother forsake me, then the LORD will take me up.

Lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world.--I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore.--I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.--My peace I give unto you.

EVENING

Master, we have toiled all the night, and
have taken nothing; nevertheless
at thy word I will let down the net.

ALL power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: . . . and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world.

The kingdom of heaven is like unto a net, that was cast into the sea.

Though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of: for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel! I am made all things to all men, that I might by all means save some.

Let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.--My word . . . shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please.--So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase.

FOTO TOTO?

WHY? Why did God make such a creature?

Of all the interogatives; how, what, when, where, why - etc - there is only one that is illegal - that is, it is simply out-of-line! No creature has a right to interrogate it's Creator about what He was thinking, or what His Purpose might have been in Creation. Suffice it to say that God Knows - whether we need to know - or not!

Even so - Lord, what WERE you thinking?!!

It is clear God loves diversity and options. He would never have made CHOICES if He did not. And the sheer scope and scale of what He has Done staggers even diminutive imaginations such as mine. I simply cannot take it all in.

This creature is one of the more fascinating on planet earth. Shy. Elusive. Brilliant. Fluid. Vicious & voracious. Yet provocatively inquisitive! There are not many around that can 'fill' all those 'shoes'. and I am told that the largest of it's species lives right here in my own backyard - in the deep ocean waters of the Pacific Northwest of America. Some are quite huge, in fact!

There are not many GOOD photos of octopi. I know, I've searched. But this is one of the best yet. So I thought I'd share it with you as a reminder. We are not alone! There are many exotic and elegant creatures yet to be discovered by man - most live at ocean-depths unobtainable so far. But scientists are gaining on it. And as they do, they are reporting astonishing new discoveries. Man really knows so LITTLE!

Be very thankful that you are a Child of the King of Kings - the Lord God Almighty - The Eternal One Who Created all there is - and Loved it all enough to DIE for it - and you too! He is well aware of all we have yet to learn. Thank God we can KNOW HIM - and simply ASK HIM!

DAILY HYMN (LYRICS & MUSIC)

THE KING’S HIGHWAY

Wherever you may be, whatever you may see,
That would lead you into evil, say you nay,
I will not turn aside; whatever may betide,
I’ll keep along the middle of the King’s highway.

Refrain

The King’s highway, the King’s highway,
I’ll keep along the middle of the King’s highway;
I will not turn aside; whatever may betide,
I’ll keep along the middle of the King’s highway.

The meadows may be green, where bypath stile is seen,
Turn aside, the little flowers seem to say;
Be sure you take no heed—they’re trying to mislead—
Just keep along the middle of the King’s highway.

Refrain

For on enchanted ground, there’s danger all around,
And a thousand pleasant voices bid you stay,
With fingers stop your ears, and never mind the jeers,
Just keep along the middle of the King’s highway.

Refrain

Our God will guide us right, and walking in the light,
We shall win a crown of glory in the day,
When Jesus calls His own together round the throne,
Who keep along the middle of the King’s highway.

Refrain

CHRISTIAN STUDY RESOURCES

'Heads & Legs!'

from Spurgeon's sermon, "Faith Versus Sight" No. 677.

2 Cor. 5:7. "We walk by faith..."

Oh! I wish that some Christians would pay a
little attention to their legs, instead of paying
it all to their heads!

When children's heads grow too fast it is a sign of
disease, and they get the rickets, or water on the brain.

So, there are some very sound brethren, who seem
to me to have got some kind of disease, and when
they try to walk, they straightway make a tumble
of it, because they have paid so much attention to
perplexing doctrinal views, instead of looking, as
they ought to have done, to the practical part of
Christianity.

By all means let us have doctrine, but by all means
let us have precept too. By all means let us have
inward experience, but by all means let us also have
outward "holiness, without which no man can see the Lord."

NOTABLE QUOTES (Various Authors)

It has been said that 'a little knowledge is a dangerous thing!'; -
so it is that a man reading the Bible without the divine inspiration of the Author Who wrote it is usually misguided.

If the Bible was God-Breathed (Inspired), so was man originally (Gn 2:7) -
and if God's Word is Alive, as it says it is, then, as the Manna, or Bread from Heaven it is, it must be Blessed, Broken and Breathed into man by God alone -
or it cannot be truly, spiritualy Digested!
