(In anger, to a loved one, now deceased:) "I wish you would go away and never come back!"

Mt 12: 36, 37
"But I say unto you, That every idle (careless) word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned."

** God put His Cross where His Mouth Was - all along! ** Today's Bible Promise is ... "He causeth the grass to grow for the cattle, and herb for the service of man: that he may bring forth food out of the earth;" Ps 104:14

Abraham believed in the LORD; and he
counted it to him for righteousness.

H E staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; and being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform. And therefore it was imputed to him for righteousness. Now it was not written for his sake alone, that it was imputed to him; but for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead.

The promise, that he should be the heir of the world, was not to Abraham, or to his seed, through the law, but through the righteousness of faith.

The just shall live by faith.--Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised).--Our God is in the heavens: he hath done whatsoever he hath pleased.--With God nothing shall be impossible.--And blessed is she that believed: for there shall be a performance of those things which were told her from the Lord.

God . . . .who hath called you unto his
kingdom and glory.

M Y kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, . . . but now is my kingdom not from hence.--Expecting till his enemies be made his footstool.

The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever.--Thou hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.--I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them; . . . and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.--Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father.--Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.

I appoint unto you a kingdom, as my Father hath appointed unto me; that ye may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom, and sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

Thy kingdom come.

Lord some folks begin all their prayers to You by thanking You for waking them up in their 'right mind' today. I hear that! Physical health is one thing, but mental health is quite another!

There is not one of us mortals alive who is not one catastrophic circumstance away from abject poverty - monetarily, physically, or mentally! Any one of us could lose all we know and consider our 'reality' at any moment! For us to forget this is an astonishment! An arrogance.

Any exposure at all of a soul gripped by 'alzheimer's disease' ought to remind us just how very fragile the human mind is.

Lord, thank You for a right and proper mind. Grant that we might use it to honor You in our here & now, and help us remember Who's we Really Are in-Christ!

WOW! - That's AWESOME, man!!

Funny how we butcher our mother tongue - eh? Yet these words are fit and appropriate here. (Maybe like nowhere else?!)

How soon we forget. We get so wrapped up in our tiny, human circumstances - our daily ho-hum, humdrum - - routine lives ... that we forget JUST how insignificant we truly are! Career scientists might be excused for just a tad of their cynical skepticism - regarding how important man is to God - when faced, daily, with the vast enormity of our universe.

That sun of our's (we call it our own!) has storms. Lots of them. And they swirl around it in magnetic eddies and vortex-hurricanes much larger than earth. Any one of them is a mystery scientists have yet to discern - clearly. The ethereal ramifications of the smallest of these solar tantrums devastates many of man's most sophisticated gadgets.

God made that sun. And all the others out there. And the millions of other galaxies made up of untold, unfathomable quantities of suns and stars much larger than our own. I am told that, when scientists finally developed telescopes capable of viewing OUTSIDE our own galaxy - when they could focus past the glare of our own stellar 'haze' - that they began to notice a pattern in the myriads of star-clusters and galaxies beyond our's. They tell me that there is a massive VOID smack dab in the middle of all these clusters - and that that empty space has a form. The form of a MAN!

Does God really know what He's doing? and is He really ABLE to keep track of all those heavenly bodies - their orbits - their positions - (they are, after all - for SIGNS and WONDERS, God Says!) - and the tiny corpse of a relatively worthless, common sparrow - as well?? Jesus said He Is - and Does. And when we get to thinking we are so smart that we have God all figured out - gotten to the bottom of all He has said and Done - we need to stop for a moment.

Take another LOOK at that massive sun - and the raw, sheer POWER of it. And then consider it's relative insignificance in just our galaxy - as a star. And then remember that vast ocean of 'dark matter' they tell me makes up MOST of the universe - even though they cannot FIND it yet!

Our God Is a MIGHTY God - indeed! And He says that you are 'the Apple of His Eye!'. Now THAT'S "AWESOME, ... DUDE!"

Take not thought for food or raiment,
Careful one, so anxiously;
For the King Himself provideth
Food and clothes for thee.

He Who daily feeds the sparrows,
He Who clothes the lilies bright,
More than birds and flowers holds thee
Precious in His sight.

Would’st thou give a stone, a serpent,
To Thy pleading child for food?
And shall not thy Heavenly Father
Give thee what is good?

On the heart that careth for thee
Rest thou then from sorrow free;
For of all most tender fathers
None so good as He.

Seek thou first His gracious promise,
Treasure stored in Heav’n above;
So thou may’st entrust all other
Safely to His love.

Unto Thee, O bounteous Father,
Glory, honor, praise be done;
With the Son and Holy Spirit,
God for ever One.

'Private devotions!'

The following is from Spurgeon's sermon,
"A Song at the Well-head" No. 776. Num. 21:16-18

You are retired for your private devotions; you
have opened the Bible, and you begin to read.

Now, do not be satisfied with merely reading
through a chapter. Some people thoughtlessly
read through two or three chapters- stupid
people for doing such a thing!

It is always better to read a little and digest
it, than it is to read much and then think you
have done a good thing by merely reading the
letter of the word.

For you might as well read the alphabet
backwards and forwards, as read a chapter
of Scripture, unless you meditate upon it,
and seek to comprehend its meaning.

Merely to read words is nothing: the letter kills.

The business of the believer with his Bible
open is to pray, "Lord, give me the meaning
and spirit of your word, while it lies open
before me; apply your word with power to
my soul, threatening or promise, doctrine
or precept, whatever it may be; lead me
into the soul and marrow of your word."

Also, it is not the form of prayer, but the spirit
of prayer that shall truly benefit your souls.

That prayer has not benefited you,
which is not the prayer of the soul.

You have need to say, "Lord, give me the
spirit of prayer; now help me to feel my
need deeply, to perceive your promises
clearly, and to exercise faith upon them."

In your private devotions, strive after vital
godliness, real soul-work, the life-giving
operation of the Spirit of God in your hearts.

Pr 10:31
"The mouth of the righteous brings forth wisdom,
but the perverse tongue will be cut off."

"Have you come to the 'Red Sea' place in your life, where, in spite of all you can do, there is no way out, there is no way back, there is no other way but through?
Then wait on the Lord with a trust serene till the night of your fear is gone; He will send the wind, He will heap the floods, when He says to your soul, "Go on!"

"And His hand will lead you through -- clear through -- ere the watery walls roll down, no foe can reach you, no wave can touch, no mightiest sea can drown;
The tossing billows may rear their crests, their foam at your feet may break, but over their bed you shall walk dry shod in the path that your Lord will make!"

"In the morning watch, 'neath the lifted cloud, you shall see but the Lord alone, when He leads you on from the place of the sea to a land that you have not known;
And your fears shall pass as your foes have passed, you shall be no more afraid; You shall sing His praise in a better place, a place that His hand has made!"
