The entrance of thy words giveth light.

T HIS . . . is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.--God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.--The Word was God. In him was life; and the life was the light of men.--If we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.--Ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.

Ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light.--Ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light.

Noah was a just man.

T HE just shall live by faith.--Noah builded an altar unto the LORD; and took of every clean beast, and of every clean fowl, and offered burnt offerings on the altar. And the LORD smelled a sweet savour.--The Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.

Being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.

By the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin. But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference.

We . . . joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement.

Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect. It is God that justifieth.--Whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified.

Ever get the feeling yer being watched? Someone's looking over yer shoulder - examining yer every move?

There's taking an interest in another's behavior - and then there's just plain nosey! After all - some things are just private, that's all! Nobody else's business.

Then there is God! Lots of folks see or think of God as some sort of Santa Clause up in the sky somewhere - all fluffy, smooth and soft-like - He wouldn't DARE do EVIL like He says He has and will again! And then there are others who cannot tolerate a Loving, Gracious God - because they are determined to BLAME Him for all the wickedness and suffering they've seen. Their 'god' is one of suspicious intentions, dark motives with nothing but stern Damnation in-Mind! Both are fables!

No one needs speak for God - He does that quite Eloquently for Himself - if anyone will give Him the 'time of day' (will hear Him out). God pays such close attention to us that He knows our needs even before we ask about them. And He continuously tests, sifts, weighs our motives, intentions - Watches every choice we make! Why?

Good question! It would hardly seem worth it. But God CARES for man. He actually LOVES us. And His Attentiveness is Gracious - even though it may not seem that way at times.

If you are aware of God watching you - Listening to your thoughts - Caring for your choices - then you know He Cares - ALOT! One thing about God, He Is ABLE to take ACTION where He Sees it will do the MOST Eternal good on our behalf. And that includes bringing all things together FOR good - for those of us that will LOVE HIM BACK! (Remember, we can watch GOD BACK as well!) (grin)

The saints should never be dismayed,
Nor sink in hopeless fear;
For when they least expect His aid,
The Savior will appear.

This Abr’am found: he raised the knife;
God saw, and said, “Forbear!
Yon ram shall yield his meaner life;
Behold the victim there.”

Once David seemed Saul’s certain prey;
But hark! the foe’s at hand;
Saul turns his arms another way,
To save th’invaded land.

When Jonah sunk beneath the wave,
He thought to rise no more;
But God prepared a fish to save,
And bear him to the shore.

Blest proofs of power and grace divine,
That meet us in His Word!
May every deep felt care of mine
Be trusted with the Lord.

Wait for His seasonable aid,
And though it tarry, wait:
The promise may be long delayed,
But cannot come too late.

'God's promises!'

from Spurgeon's sermon, "Three Precious Things" #931

"...He has given us His very great and precious promises..."
2 Peter 1:4

God's promises are precious because they tell of
exceeding great and precious things. We have
promises in the Bible which time would fail us to
repeat, which for breadth and length are immeasurable.

They deal with every great thing which the soul can need:
promises of pardoned sin,
promises of sanctification,
promises of teaching,
promises of guidance,
promises of upholding,
promises of ennobling,
promises of progress,
promises of consolation, and
promises of perfection.

In this blessed book you have....
promises of the daily bread of earth;
promises of the bread of life from heaven;
promises for time;
promises for eternity.

You have so many promises, that all the
conditions and positions of the believer are
met. I sometimes liken the promises to the
locksmith's great bunch of keys, which he brings
when you have lost the key of your treasure chest,
and cannot unlock it. He feels pretty sure that out
of all the keys upon the ring some one or other
will fit, and he tries them with patient industry.
At last! yes! that is it, he has moved the bolt,
and you can get at your treasures!

There is always a promise in the volume of
inspiration suitable to your present case.

Make the Lord's promises your delight and your
counselors, and they will befriend you at every turn.

Search the Scriptures, and you shall meet with a
promise which will be so applicable to you as to
appear to have been written after your trouble
had occurred! So exactly will it apply, that you
will be compelled to marvel at the wonderful
tenderness and suitableness of it.

As if the tailor had measured you from head to foot,
so exactly shall the garment of the promise befit you.

The promises are precious in themselves....
from their suitability to us,
from their coming from God,
from their being immutable,
from their being sure of performance, and
from their containing wrapped up within themselves
all that the children of God can ever need.

"...He has given us His very great and precious promises..."
2 Peter 1:4

Pr 10:28
"The hope of the righteous ends in gladness,
but the expectation of the wicked comes to nought."

"Oh, wonderful, wonderful Word of the Lord! - The hope of our friends in the past;
Its truth where so firmly they anchored their trust, through ages eternal shall last.

Oh, wonderful, wonderful Word of the Lord! - Unchanging, abiding and sure;
For we know that when time and the world pass away, God's Word shall forever endure!"
