B LESSED be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.--Saved by his life.

Our Saviour Jesus Christ; who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.--As he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.

The God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ . . . hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ.--In him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. And ye are complete in him.--Of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace.

He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?

R EMEMBER the word unto thy servant, upon which thou hast caused me to hope.--O LORD, I am oppressed; undertake for me.

Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.--Ye know in all your hearts and in all your souls, that not one thing hath failed of all the good things which the LORD your God spake concerning you; all are come to pass unto you, and not one thing hath failed thereof.

Fear not: peace be unto thee, be strong, yea, be strong. And when he had spoken unto me, I was strengthened, and said, Let my lord speak; for thou hast strengthened me.--Be strong, . . . and work: for I am with you, saith the LORD of hosts.--Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts.

Be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.

Lord, this world is wicked and full of rebellious iniquities. I know, because my flesh has lusted after most forms of evil in my day.

Even so, there is kindness too. Little considerations; tiny thoughtful acts; gestures that reflect You and Your Love here, on earth.

Thank You for showering mankind with Your Agape, Selfless Love - even while we were yet such sinners. And thank You too, for Your Sons and Daughters - Your Body - Your Heritage, here and Now.

Lord, in whatever days there might be - yet-to-folllow - teach us to be sweet to You ad to one another - like You.

Ahhh... that's it - just a bit to the left!

Nothing like a good snog - a wet, sloppy smooch - to make you feel all warm & mushy inside. Just a touch of tenderness - then all's well.

We all know what it feels like - to have someone be kind to us - to extend that warm embrace - a handshake - a touch - a hug. But where would we be if we had no one to love like that - BACK?

Giving love is surely it's own reward. Nothing is quite as nice as being kind and loving to another - and having that 'other' to be nice to!

We eat animals. It's true! We have them for dinner. What a paradox. What a quandry.

Still, there is love and kindness and tenderness and all of that. And we would be all the poorer for the lack of it. But we often wonder ... if there is such gain in giving - such reward in loving - why aren't we more that way? Why is it so rare? Is this part of why so many folks are so empty inside? So hopeless - so lost?

No one wants to think of themself as hard, or without love - or like old man Scrooge (mean). But we GET that way sometimes - when we don't have someone to give love to! But, wait - we HAVE Someone to Love - GOD! we can all Love GOD, can't we? well - CAN'T WE???

Unfortunately, the answer is - no. No, not all of us CAN Love God back. Many souls are without even God to Love. They are not related to Him yet. Shame, that! What a waste! Christ's Blood Shed for nothing where their Salvation is concerned. How lonely - how hopeless - how dead!

It is what we DO-WITH God's Love and Grace and Faith and Salvation - that Counts in The End! Stewardship is what will Count then - what we DID with all God GAVE. We can learn to Love God here and Now - if we will. IF WE WILL. BIG if!

'God - what IS man that You are so TENDER towards him?!'

Father, I scarcely dare to pray,
So clear I see, now it is done,
How I have wasted half my day,
And left my work but just begun.
So clear I see that things I thought
Were right or harmless were a sin;
So clear I see that I have sought,
Unconscious, selfish aims to win.

So clear I see that I have hurt
The souls I might have helped to save;
That I have slothful been, inert,
Deaf to the calls Thy leaders gave.
In outskirts of Thy kingdoms vast
Father, the humblest spot give me;
Set me the lowliest task Thou hast,
Let me repentant work for Thee.

'A sweet power'

(Cudworth, 1647)

"Speaking the truth in love." Ephes. 4:15

When we would convince men of any error by
the strength of truth, let us additionally pour
the sweet balm of love upon their heads. Truth
and love are two of the most powerful things
in the world; and when they both go together,
they cannot easily be withstood. The golden
beams of truth, and the silken cords of love,
twisted together, will draw men on with a
sweet power.

Let us take heed we do not sometimes call that
'zeal for God and His gospel' which is nothing else
but our own tempestuous and stormy passion.
True zeal is a sweet, heavenly, and gentle flame,
which makes us active for God--but always within
the sphere of love. It never calls for fire from heaven
to consume those who differ a little from us. It
strives to save the soul--but hurts not the body.
True zeal is a loving thing, and makes us always
active to edification, and not to destruction.

Pr 10:27
"The fear of the LORD prolongs life,
but the years of the wicked will be short."

"For every hill I've had to climb, for every stone that bruised my feet,
for all the blood and sweat and grime, for blinding storms and burning heat,
my heart sings but a grateful song -- These were the things that made me strong!

"For all the heartaches and the tears, for all the anguish and the pain,
for gloomy days and fruitless years, and for the hopes that lived in vain,
I do give thanks, for now I know -- These were the things that helped me grow!"
