DAILY BIBLE PROMISE

** God put His Cross where His Mouth Was - all along! ** Today's Bible Promise is ... "For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us (against our will) from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord." Rom 8:38-39

MORNING

He shall put his hand upon the head of
the burnt offering; and it shall be
accepted for him to make
atonement for him.

Y E know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.--Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree.

He hath made us accepted in the beloved.

As lively stones, . . . built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.--I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, to the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever.

LEV. 1. 4. 1 Pe. 1. 18, 19.--1 Pe. 2. 24.
Ep. 1. 6. 1 Pe. 2. 5.--Ro. 12. 1. Jude 1. 24, 25.

EVENING

In all points tempted like as we are, yet
without sin.

W HEN the woman saw that the tree was good for food (the lust of the flesh), and that it was pleasant to the eyes [the lust of the eyes], and a tree to be desired to make one wise [the pride of life], she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.

When the tempter came to [Jesus], he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread [the lust of the flesh]. But he answered, . . . Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.--The devil . . . sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them [the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life]. Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan.

In that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted.

Blessed is the man that endureth temptation.

HEB. 4. 15. Ge. 3. 6. Mat. 4. 3, 4, 8-10.
He. 2. 18. Ja. 1. 12.

DAILY THANKSGIVING

WORDS:
Lord, I know You invented words - that is, communication. We can see this because You invented relationship - family - love.

You use words to express Your thoughts and intentions to us - Your Will.
And we are guided, corrected and instructed by them.
If it were not for words, there could be no union in thought and purpose between You and Your creatures.

So it is because of words that we can know and love you.
So thank You, Lord - for words!

FOTO TOTO?

ALL ALONE?!

Abandoned again! Where'd everybody go? One minute they're right here, next thing ya know & they've up & disappeared! Poof - just like that!

When I was just big enough to eat bugs - one time - I was in a crouded market with my mother - shopping - (well, SHE was!). And you know how little kids are, into everything, wanting everything, cranky, etc. (Musta been past my nap time) Anyway, I got distracted and took my hand outa her hand and (gulp) wandered off. Pretty soon I reached up and re-took hold of her hand - but when I looked up - to my utter shock & horror - it wasn't her!! I had taken hold of some STRANGER'S hand!!

Screaming kids can cause quite a ruckus in an open store - ever notice that? And there are few things more scary to a tiny human than what this young duckling must be feeling just about now. A L O N E !

But there is a sense in which we all are - VERY alone - all the time. Came in that way, that way - and will all livedie that way - by ourself. When you were born, no one was holding your hand - you came OUT alone (even with twins this is a ghastly truth!). Each soul was Created in the SINGULAR. And we all go out much as we came in.

But there IS God, afterall. Jesus said that not one tiny sparrow (even though they were not valued for much - as a price of five-for-four proved) - not one of them could die without God! This little duckling may be crying out to it's Creator - and the Marvel is that he HEARS IT!

As we cannot explain even the simple workings of our body - though we live IN it our whole lives - so it is that no soul 'understands' the life God gave it - but we live it anyway. But when God said, "LIVE!" - He meant WITH HIM and TO HIM and FOR HIM.

All mortal life lives by the death of other mortal lives. This is the way of the cursed life. And God knows this. But we can SHARE ALL with God - and then we are NEVER ALONE!

DAILY HYMN (LYRICS & MUSIC)

YE ARE THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD

Ye are the light of the world,
Driving the darkness away,
Shedding your beams on the lost,
Changing their night into day.
Then let your light ever shine,
Showing the right way to go;
Gladly the lost ones will see—
God’s boundless love they will know.

Ye are the light of the world,
Causing the clouds to depart,
Throwing the sunshine of peace
Down on the poor burdened heart.
Then let your light ever shine;
Loved ones are panting for rest;
Sunshine their souls will revive,
Lifting them up to the blest.

Ye are the light of the world;
Thro’ you the true light must shine,
Calling the lost sons of men
Home to the Father divine.
Then let your light ever shine,
Hallow the Name that is love;
You will each shine as a star,
Fixed in the orbit above.

CHRISTIAN STUDY RESOURCES

'A QUOTE FROM MY BROTHER-IN-CHRIST, PETER'

(from his blog, 'The True and Living way')

"This is the essence of the New Testament:
to stop sinning and turn to God for Life (Eternal),
to be Led by the voice of the Holy Spirit bearing His Holy fruit in good thoughts and words and works,
and to abide/remain/continue faithful in this (daily) until the end -
that is - until your death or His Son's Return."

PODCAST - DAILY AUDIO DEVOTIONALS

DAILY POEM

Christ in His Word draws near; Hush, moaning voice of fear, He bids thee cease;
With songs sincere and sweet Let us arise, and meet Him Who comes forth to greet Our souls with peace.

Rising above thy care, Meet Him as in the air, O weary heart;
Put on joy's sacred dress; Lo, as He comes to bless, Quite from thy weariness Set free thou art.

For works of love and praise He brings thee summer days, Warm days and bright;
Winter is past and gone, Now He, salvation's Sun, Shineth on every one With mercy's light.

From the bright sky above, Clad in His robes of love, Tis He, our Lord!
Dim earth itself grows clear As His light draweth near; O let us hush and hear His holy Word.

Distraction (diversion) is a 'siren' to oblivion (death)!

NOTABLE QUOTES (Various Authors)

"The most devout among us become aesthetic when it comes to our daily cross-bearing;
we do not believe God!

We enthrone common sense, and we tack the Name of God onto it.

We lean to our own understanding instead of trusting God with all our hearts!"

--Oswald Chambers
