DAILY BIBLE PROMISE

** God put His Cross where His Mouth Was - all along! ** Today's Bible Promise is ... "For the Father himself loveth you, because ye have loved me, and have believed that I came out from God." Jn 16:27

DAILY THANKSGIVING

THE FELLOWSHIP OF GOD:

Lord, today I want to thank you for your attentive and gracious Fellowship. The Miracle that a condemned mortal, a rebellious and stubborn man such as I am could have ANY Communion with Holiness and Divinity such as You Are - escapes me!

I know that it is ONLY because of the Innocent Blood of Jesus Christ that this is even Possible - another Miracle of Your Grace and Love I cannot fathom. Nevertheless, as You have Provided, so I thank you.

FOTO TOTO?

Finding PEACE!

That's the name of this photo. And, yes, it is quite peaceful at the ocean. At times. On the other hand, if we think of storms, tumults, hurrricanes, and the most violent, unbridled furies nature can display - we think of the ocean!

Jesus said there would be no Peace - no REAL Peace on this earth - until His Return (After the Great Spiritual Storm - The Apocalypse). And in the meantime, many would claim, "Peace, Peace" (all is well) - even when chaos, confusion and runaway lawlessness would be at their apex!

That time (apparently) is now! This world is in runaway mode. Every knowledge is being increased at an alarmingly inhuman rate. No one can keep up anymore. There are no restraints from governments, social orders, religions, or even philosophies! Anything (and everything) goes - and is 'ok'. Wars and violence and hatred of the most venomous sorts dominate every newscast. And all that man has depended upon is collapsing about him.

There can be no Peace until That Accord has first been reached with God! And God has Determined to Destroy this wicked world - and all it has developed - and all it honors, worships and obeys. What Agape (Love FOR and FROM God) most have is quickly evaporating - and souls are 'fainting' right and left - "Losing their Love" - as their 'faith' waxes cold! (Proves to have been a hoax and a fraud all along)

When God reconciles a soul to Himself - He Becomes One-WITH that soul - and The Peace of Christ floods and fills every nook & cranny of the NewLife within. This Peace Is of Christ - not of man. Heavenly, not of earth. But first God must Make that soul Righteous in His Eyes - The Eyes of Holiness. He does this with Christ's Blood - The Lamb of God Who was slain from (before) the earth was 'Founded' - just for this Purpose.

Where Righteousness Reigns, Peace RULES! And from that time on - the Very Government of God in that soul IS THIS PEACE OF CHRIST'S - Passing ALL mortal circumstances and understanding. In the midst of this world's vicious spiral down to the depths of depraved evil and unthinkable rebellions - there Stands His Peace - Governing His Beloved.

"Let the PEACE OF CHRIST RULE in you - to the Which you were CALLED!"

So be it!

DAILY HYMN (LYRICS & MUSIC)

ABBA, FATHER! WE APPROACH THEE

“Abba, Father!” We approach Thee
In our Savior’s precious Name;
We, Thy children, here assembled,
Now Thy promised blessing claim;
From our sins His blood hath washed us,
’Tis through Him our souls draw nigh,
And Thy Spirit, too, hath taught us,
“Abba, Father,” thus to cry.

Once as prodigals we wandered
In our folly far from Thee,
But Thy grace, o’er sin abounding,
Rescued us from misery;
Thou Thy prodigals hast pardoned,
Kissed us with a Father’s love,
Spread the festive board, and called us,
E’er to dwell with Thee above.

Clothed in garments of salvation,
At Thy table is our place,
We rejoice, and Thou rejoicest,
In the riches of Thy grace;
“It is meet,” we hear Thee saying,
“We should merry and be glad,
I have found My once lost children,
Now they live who once were dead.”

“Abba, Father!” all adore Thee,
All rejoice in Heav’n above,
While in us they learn the wonders
Of Thy wisdom, grace, and love;
Soon before Thy throne assembled,
All Thy children shall proclaim,
“Glory, everlasting glory,
Be to God and to the Lamb!”

CHRISTIAN STUDY RESOURCES

'Extract the honey from the Word!'

(Winslow, "Retirement, The School
and Discipline of Spiritual Life")

The frivolous and frothy literature of the day, of
which, alas! the press is so prolific, is exerting a
most baneful influence upon the spiritual life of
many Christian professors.

In numberless cases the exaggerated fiction;
the sensational story; the high wrought romance;
is supplanting those works contributed by the
most highly cultivated, spiritual minds.

The effect of this upon the Christianity of the
age, must be deteriorating and disastrous in
the extreme.

Hence the sickly life exhibited
by many religious professors!

The prevailing taste for this vapid, worldly
literature lowers the intellectual powers of the
mind, and impairs the spiritual powers of the soul.

What, then, is the great antidote to
this far circulating moral poison?

We unhesitatingly answer; the private and
devout study of God's word. We believe that
the Bible can only be spiritually and experimentally
understood as the student retreats from the arena
of religious controversy, into the privacy of his
chamber, and there, as upon his knees, invoking
the aid and teaching of the Holy Spirit.

It is not always in the crowd, and amid the
voices of conflicting interpreters, or even
from the pulpit, that the literal and spiritual
meaning of the Scriptures is understood; but,
when we withdraw into the privacy of the closet,
or the solitude of the sick chamber, He explains
to us, and causes us to understand, the mind of
the Spirit in the Word as at no other time and
in no other way.

And, oh! in the quietude of that separation;
in the stillness of that hour; you may have
closer communion with God; know more of
Christ and understand more of the truth,
than at any previous period of your spiritual
life! "And when they were alone, He explained
all things to His disciples."

Oh, it is thus when sequestered from man,
and only with God, we excavate the gold
and extract the honey from the Word!

DAILY POEM

"My peace I give in times of deepest grief, imparting calm and trust and My relief.
My peace I give when prayer seems lost; know that my promises are ever in My Word.

"My peace I give when thou art left alone -- the nightingale at last has sweetest tone.

My peace I give in time of utter loss, the way of glory leads right to the cross.

"My peace I give when enemies will blame. Thy fellowship is sweet through cruel shame.
My peace I give in agony and sweat, for Mine own brow with Bloody drops was wet!

"My peace I give when nearest friend betrays -- peace that is merged in love, and for them prays.

My peace I give when there's but death for thee -- the Gateway is the Cross to get to Me!"
