DAILY BIBLE PROMISE

** God put His Cross where His Mouth Was - all along! ** Today's Bible Promise is ... Exodus 33:19

DAILY THANKSGIVING

FOTO TOTO?

ALONE, in a CROUD?

Ever hear that expression? We marvel at how it is that souls can get 'lost in the shuffle', so to speak - buried amidst the masses and throngs - in cities, subways, on sidewalks, and busy travel terminals. Surrounded by teeming hoards of hustle-bustle commuters. Yet all alone!

Indeed, it sometimes seems that an individual's loneliness is magnified and intensified by immersion in large groups - as though 'belonging' had anything to do with social intercourse. Where's the flaw in our logic?

When a creature seeks identification from any 'other-than' it's Origin (Creator), only 'Babylon' occurs! "Babylon" means "confusion at God's gate", or, "lack of identification with God", or, "does not belong", or, "not under God's Government!" (out of Control)!

Identity is determined by Original Purpose. WHAT or WHO a creature IS, is not a thing that creature CAN determine alone (without The Blueprint or Schematic from Which it was Made). In this world, creatures are no sooner born than they are quickly indoctrinated by the world (society of man) or it's god (Satan) - by a desperate 'need' for social 'acceptance', 'bonding', or 'belonging'. Seeking these, that creature soon learns rejection.

I am not clear that it is ever possible to be lonely in God's Presence. That we were all Made FOR That Very Presence (Fellowship with God) is clear. And it also seems clear no loneliness is possible apart-from self-pity - which is not only ALWAYS SATANIC (as Oswald Chambers makes clear, repeatedly) - but is the ultimate in Satanic WORSHIP!

No soul WITH God is ever lonely. Even John Baptist - in his prison, about to lose his head for Christ - when he doubted and was completely 'undone' - was not without God! David makes this clear in Psalms 23. But Jesus WAS!

Jesus was MADE SIN for us - and TASTED CONDEMNATION. "Why hast Thou Forsaken Me?!"

When we whine of loneliness, we spit on Christ's Very BLOOD! That it takes a brutal dose of honest reality to SEE this, is also quite clear. Few can endure it - just as few can endure Christ's Own Admonitions. The rest wallow in shame on His Name!

Next time you are tempted to wallow & whine in self-pity of how lonely you are - can you remember how Christ DIED and was DAMNED and went to HELL for you - so that you would never HAVE to endure these things - as He did FOR you?

DAILY HYMN (LYRICS & MUSIC)

I AM THINE, O LORD
(Draw Me Nearer)

I am Thine, O Lord, I have heard Thy voice,
And it told Thy love to me;
But I long to rise in the arms of faith
And be closer drawn to Thee.

Refrain

Draw me nearer, nearer blessèd Lord,
To the cross where Thou hast died.
Draw me nearer, nearer, nearer blessèd Lord,
To Thy precious, bleeding side.

Consecrate me now to Thy service, Lord,
By the power of grace divine;
Let my soul look up with a steadfast hope,
And my will be lost in Thine.

Refrain

O the pure delight of a single hour
That before Thy throne I spend,
When I kneel in prayer, and with Thee, my God
I commune as friend with friend!

Refrain

There are depths of love that I cannot know
Till I cross the narrow sea;
There are heights of joy that I may not reach
Till I rest in peace with Thee.

Refrain

CHRISTIAN STUDY RESOURCES

'Hidden Treasure!'

(J. C. Philpot, "Meditations on the Holy Spirit")

"Oh, how I love your law! I meditate on it all
day long!" Psalm 119:97

"Truly, I love your commands more than gold,
even the finest gold!" Psalm 119:127

"Your decrees are my treasure; they are truly
my heart's delight!" Psalm 119:111

To a spiritual mind, sweet and soul-rewarding is
the searching of the Word as for hidden treasure.

No sweeter, no better employment can engage
heart and hands than, in the spirit . . .
of prayer and meditation,
of separation from the world,
of holy fear,
of a desire to know the will of God and do it,
of humility, simplicity, and godly sincerity,
to seek to enter into those heavenly mysteries which
are stored up in the Scriptures; and this, not to furnish
the head with notions, but to feed the soul with the
bread of life!

Truth, received in the love and power of it . . .
informs and establishes the judgment,
softens and melts the heart,
warms and draws upward the affections,
makes and keeps the conscience alive and tender,
is the food of faith,
is the strength of hope,
is the mainspring of love.

"My child, listen to Me and treasure My instructions.
Search for them as you would for lost money or
hidden treasure!" Proverbs 2:1,4

DAILY POEM

Christ in His Word draws near; Hush, moaning voice of fear, He bids thee cease; With songs sincere and sweet Let us arise, and meet Him Who comes forth to greet Our souls with peace.

Rising above thy care, Meet Him as in the air, O weary heart; Put on joy's sacred dress; Lo, as He comes to bless, Quite from thy weariness Set free thou art.

For works of love and praise He brings thee summer days, Warm days and bright; Winter is past and gone, Now He, salvation's Sun, Shineth on every one With mercy's light.

From the bright sky above, Clad in His robes of love, 'Tis He, our Lord! Dim earth itself grows clear As His light draweth near; O let us hush and hear His holy Word.

--Thomas Toke Lynch, 1855
