I SEE - IT'S ALL DONE WITH - MIRRORS!

Self-discovery is usually a surprise - often emotional. Sometimes it's a delight, other times it can be devastating. But it is ALWAYS 'done with mirrors'.

We 'see' ourselves in other things, circumstances and people. And it changes us. These 'mirrors' are not reflections of us, but of the God Who Made us - and everything and everyone else. What we actually 'See", is HIM!

It is by such 'Beholding, as in a mirror', the Apostle tells us we are 'Becoming'. That is, we are Being Shaped and Formed into the Same Image of God we See in Christ!

Jesus Christ IS The Living Word-Will of God - the Manna from Heaven - Divine Bread - eternal FOOD. And The Written Word (Bible-Truth) Is The Mirror by Which Christ is Formed in us. No one Grows Spiritually without the Growth Which requires Spiritual Nourishment and Identification - the Bible.

We decrease as He Increases (Jn 3:30). This Transformation is HOW we Grow - by MIRRORS! Think about it??

DAILY HYMN (LYRICS & MUSIC)

TAKE NOT THOUGHT FOR FOOD OR RAIMENT

Take not thought for food or raiment,
Careful one, so anxiously;
For the King Himself provideth
Food and clothes for thee.

He Who daily feeds the sparrows,
He Who clothes the lilies bright,
More than birds and flowers holds thee
Precious in His sight.

Would’st thou give a stone, a serpent,
To Thy pleading child for food?
And shall not thy Heavenly Father
Give thee what is good?

On the heart that careth for thee
Rest thou then from sorrow free;
For of all most tender fathers
None so good as He.

Seek thou first His gracious promise,
Treasure stored in Heav’n above;
So thou may’st entrust all other
Safely to His love.

Unto Thee, O bounteous Father,
Glory, honor, praise be done;
With the Son and Holy Spirit,
God for ever One.

CHRISTIAN STUDY RESOURCES

'The 'Illuminated' Bible!'

From Spurgeon's, "The Holy Ghost- the Great Teacher"

Do any of you have an 'illuminated' Bible at home?

"No," says one, "I have a morocco Bible; I have a
Polyglot Bible; I have a marginal reference Bible."
Ah! that is all very well, but have you an illuminated Bible?
"Yes, I have a large family Bible with pictures in it."
There is a picture of John the Baptist baptizing Christ by
pouring water on his head, and many other nonsensical things;
but that is not what I mean: have you an illuminated Bible?
"Yes, I have a Bible with splendid engravings in it."
Yes; I know you may have; but have you an illuminated Bible?
"I don't understand what you mean by an illuminated Bible."

Well, it is the Christian man who has an illuminated Bible.
He does not buy it illuminated originally, but when he reads it
"A glory gilds the sacred page,
Majestic like the sun
Which gives a light to every page,
-It gives, but burrows none."

There is nothing like reading an illuminated Bible, beloved.

You may read the Bible to all eternity, and never learn
anything by it, unless it is illuminated by the Spirit;
and then the words shine forth like stars!

The book seems made of gold leaf; every single
letter glitters like a diamond.

Oh, it is a blessed thing to read an illuminated Bible
lit up by the radiance of the Holy Spirit!

DAILY BIBLE PROVERB

Pr 10:10
"He that winketh with the eye causeth sorrow (trouble): but a prating fool shall fall (but he who boldly reproves makes peace)."

DAILY POEM

"Not until each loom is silent, and the shuttles cease to fly, will God unroll the pattern, and explain the reason "why?".

The dark threads are as needful, in the Weaver's skillful hand, as the threads of gold and silver, for the pattern which He planned!"

DAILY PERSONAL PROVERB (--Dennis Rideout)

Tho I can't prove God's Reality to YOU, I CAN Prove GOD!

NOTABLE QUOTES (Various Authors)

"It is a kind and wise arrangement of God that weaves our sorrows into the elements of character; and that all the disappointments, and conflicts, and afflictions of life may, if rightly used, become the means of improvement, and create in us the sinews of strength. --

Trouble is a marvelous mortifier of pride, and an effectual restrainer of self-will. Difficulties string up the energies to loftier effort, and intensity is gained from repression. By sorrow the temper is mellowed and the feeling is refined.

When suffering has broken up the soil, and made the furrows soft, there can be implanted the hardy virtues which out-brave the storm. In short, trial is God's glorious alchemy, by which the dross is left in the crucible, the baser metals are transmuted, and the character is enriched with gold!"
