Perfect Love does NOT cast out The Fear of God!
I can't remember all the times it has been said to me, when I even mention any Text which refers to the "Fear of God" (etc) - "Well, you know - true love casts OUT all fear!". So much for Godly Fear! (Sorry, Lord - you must be WRONG about the Fear of God, because it says right here ...!) Woah! Anytime anyone uses one Scripture Text to REFUTE, DISMISS, CONTRADICT or in any other way DEFY any other Scripture - there is evil afoot!! For any dolt to assume that the fear cast out by 'Perfect Love' includes the Fear of God is, well, lets just say, it's stupid - that is, it is a statement of stupor! Such drunkenness (physical, emotional or spiritual) is of the carnal flesh - the confusion of Babylon. It is part of what Jesus reminds us to Watch out for (lest we be tempted & deceived) as the "Abomination of desolation" (Dan8:13 Mt24:15 Mk13:14 Lk21:20). In the Text Jesus Quotes, Daniel refers to the abuse and perversion of the "daily sacrifice" as this "transgression of desolation". It is in this Light Jesus Addresses His Definition of "Worshiping in Spirit and in Truth (Reality)" as following Him by self-denial-crucifixion - "daily" - and which is found Recorded in only ONE place - Lk9:23. That this and its Holy Significance has escaped the notice of ANY so-called 'theologian' of my generation, speaks for itself. That "love" now being preached as "Gospel" form most all pulpits today has, indeed, managed to 'cast out' even the Very Fear of God Jesus Taught (Lk12:5) and Obeyed Himself (Heb5:7). If The Son of Man Feared His Heavenly Father - as it is Written of Him - then it could be argued that THE TRUE and PERFECT LOVE of God which casts out all fear of man - Fears God with a HOLY FEAR - Which Is AGAPE LOVE!

Smooth words & hard sayings.
The Bible refers to 'smooth words' as easy words, or flattery - as in Isa30:10 "Which say to the seers, See not; and to the prophets, Prophesy not unto us right things, speak unto us smooth things, prophesy deceits:". The people were tired of obeying God. They were determined to rebel - to become outlaws. They wanted their own way - until God GAVE it to them. Listen to these Texts: Jn 6:60 "Many therefore of his disciples, when they had heard this, said, This is an hard saying; who can hear it?" And Heb 5:11 "Of whom we have many things to say, and hard to be uttered, seeing ye are dull of hearing." And in 2 Pet 3:16; "As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction." And in Ps 60:3 "Thou hast shewed thy people hard things: thou hast made us to drink the wine of astonishment." Ezekiel calls this the cup of astonishment in Ezk23:33 "Thou shalt be filled with drunkenness and sorrow, with the cup of astonishment ('horror'-RSV) and desolation, with the cup of thy sister Samaria." God's Word is hard. He Loves by Rebuke and Chastisement - or Discipline. The punishment for our wanting or preferring our own way to that Way of Life God has Chosen and Given us (Christ/Salvation), is to be abandoned to the consequences of our own rebellion. An outlaw must live WITHOUT THE LAW (on the run from God). To Hear God is to Obey Him - even when it is hard. Smooth?, or Hard? - its our Choice that God Ratifies in the End! (NOW consider what The Fear of God truly is!)
